[00:00:00 - 00:00:07] This show makes a great edit on Instagram it does it does all the Damon edits are awesome now granted
[00:00:07 - 00:00:10] Each season is 8 to 10 hours long
[00:00:10 - 00:00:15] That is a little more. Yeah, that is not the length of an edit. Yes. That's a little more than an edit
[00:00:15 - 00:00:17] I
[00:00:27 - 00:00:33] I'm so excited to talk about these episodes. Are you really I am you want to know why this is for like not the reason you expect
[00:00:33 - 00:00:38] Okay, why because we've been introduced to a new character in these episodes Dan Foggler
[00:00:41 - 00:00:42] She not know
[00:00:43 - 00:00:45] Well, you might be but that's not okay
[00:00:46 - 00:00:48] Daeron Targaryen
[00:00:48 - 00:00:52] Do you want to know is he is he new I thought he's been in this show before no
[00:00:52 - 00:00:57] So he was very briefly in an earlier episode, but this is just like full introduction in the show
[00:00:57 - 00:01:00] He plays a big part. He does. Yeah, do you want to know who plays him? Who?
[00:01:01 - 00:01:04] Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, you know who that guy also plays
[00:01:04 - 00:01:09] I have no idea. He will play Link in the Legend of Zelda movie in 2027. Let's go
[00:01:10 - 00:01:15] Okay, okay, and I like him. I like him too. So if I took anything from these episodes that we watched
[00:01:15 - 00:01:21] I was like, I'm excited for the actor that plays link in the movie. I'm so concerned about he is sympathetic
[00:01:21 - 00:01:26] Yes, he might be the most sympathetic character in these three episodes. That's not even crazy granted
[00:01:26 - 00:01:30] Not a high bar. There's out of the dragon. Everyone's everybody's kind of awful, but yeah
[00:01:30 - 00:01:34] No, okay. Well, welcome back to my line a fireside film podcast. I'm Grant
[00:01:34 - 00:01:39] I'm Drew we are catching up on House of the Dragon. Sorry. We missed a few episodes in there both traveling
[00:01:39 - 00:01:41] We were not in our
[00:01:41 - 00:01:48] His family I was on my honeymoon. We're back. We're back talking about episode five, but also we're gonna catch up on like three and four
[00:01:48 - 00:01:49] Yeah, super quick
[00:01:49 - 00:01:51] But Drew, what do you think of?
[00:01:51 - 00:01:54] Let's just do the whole last three episodes. What do you think?
[00:01:56 - 00:02:01] I made a mistake. Oh, no, but that's okay. Oh, we're hop on this podcast. We tell the truth
[00:02:01 - 00:02:03] Oh, no, I have no idea what you're about to say
[00:02:04 - 00:02:05] I
[00:02:05 - 00:02:09] Shockingly you're gonna be shocked by this. I I procrastinated. Oh, okay
[00:02:09 - 00:02:14] Oh, and then I had to watch three episodes of House of Dragon back to back to back last night
[00:02:14 - 00:02:16] And that might be a joy for some people
[00:02:17 - 00:02:20] It might be a slot. It is not a joy for me. That's okay. And that's okay
[00:02:22 - 00:02:23] But
[00:02:23 - 00:02:29] I really liked three. That's fair. I really like three. I thought four was kind of fine kind of mid
[00:02:30 - 00:02:32] I thought five was good
[00:02:32 - 00:02:34] I'm in the same boat. Okay. I'm completely in the same boat
[00:02:35 - 00:02:38] We've gotten to the point in House of Dragon where we're a little bit in like the
[00:02:39 - 00:02:40] We're in the political slog
[00:02:40 - 00:02:44] We are in the slog that we're getting all the characters in the right places for big events
[00:02:44 - 00:02:47] Yep, that are supposed to happen at the end of the season
[00:02:47 - 00:02:48] TBD
[00:02:48 - 00:02:50] We'll see if House of Dragon continues its trend of just like
[00:02:51 - 00:02:56] Not doing a big finale until the start of the next season one and two. Um, which is weird
[00:02:56 - 00:02:59] But like it's a kind of rough change of pace
[00:02:59 - 00:03:03] It is to go from like three banging episodes. I mean two
[00:03:04 - 00:03:09] Two's awesome. The ending of two was phenomenal. Yes. It was like that is what we live for for House of Dragon
[00:03:10 - 00:03:14] In this episode like five that we're talking about but also like four
[00:03:15 - 00:03:19] It's kind of just like chest pieces being moved. It's okay. Like I dig that
[00:03:20 - 00:03:24] Yep, but I can see how three straight hours of that for you. It's like that's really rough brutal
[00:03:24 - 00:03:26] Great itself inflicted it was
[00:03:27 - 00:03:29] But it was still brutal. Yeah, I'm glad that you have ownership there
[00:03:30 - 00:03:35] Um, let's talk about we'll just say a minute really quick if you want to skip ahead to our episode five stuff
[00:03:35 - 00:03:39] Just skip ahead a few minutes. There are chapters. Um, but episode three
[00:03:40 - 00:03:41] Drew
[00:03:41 - 00:03:47] We have Raniera making moves. She offends Lord Coralus. She offends the nobles of king's landing
[00:03:47 - 00:03:52] Yep, which I thought that scene was sick. It's great. I thought it was awesome. Um, and she offends the high septum
[00:03:53 - 00:03:57] Which that might have happened, I guess in episode two, but like she's offended the church the faith, right? Yes
[00:03:57 - 00:04:00] Yes, um, and then the big kind of
[00:04:01 - 00:04:05] Important thing with this episode, which there's a lot that goes on but wormand high tower
[00:04:05 - 00:04:12] Is like a big player now. Yes, and he has he does this whole thing with darin of sending
[00:04:13 - 00:04:16] Raniera a false darin and drew bleaching his hair
[00:04:17 - 00:04:20] Which is crazy and keeping the real darin for himself, which is very important
[00:04:20 - 00:04:21] Um
[00:04:21 - 00:04:25] And like I mean we still have Aemond at Harrenhal and like a bunch of other stuff's going on
[00:04:25 - 00:04:30] But that's kind of the bulk of this episode. I I think I have thought because everyone has weird accents
[00:04:30 - 00:04:32] I think everyone calls them almond
[00:04:32 - 00:04:36] Really? Yeah, I thought that was the name. I thought his name was almond this whole time. That's that's rough
[00:04:36 - 00:04:40] What is his name? Ormond or mint? Yeah, okay. He's
[00:04:40 - 00:04:46] Intimidating he is he can I mean he is can I that's a great word? Thank you. He is very conniving
[00:04:46 - 00:04:51] Um, I thought the route is great. I think it made a lot of sense from the perspective of like
[00:04:52 - 00:04:55] Of course, there needs to now like Raniera is now queen
[00:04:56 - 00:04:59] And she's taking all these queenly duties that she's never so it's like of course
[00:05:00 - 00:05:03] Well, she's queen and also when the high tower was ruled it was like kind of a mess
[00:05:03 - 00:05:05] So of course she has to clean everything up. Yes
[00:05:06 - 00:05:08] Um, so I thought that was super interesting
[00:05:09 - 00:05:14] I mean, I thought four was fine too. I mean I I think ormond is an interesting enough
[00:05:15 - 00:05:21] Kind of antagonist at this point. Yeah, I think he's an antagonist at least to Raniera if you're seeing Raniera as the protagonist
[00:05:22 - 00:05:28] Um, she's at least a protagonist of the show right now. Um, I would say ormond is like yes conniving
[00:05:28 - 00:05:32] I like when we get a new player that's you know spices things up
[00:05:32 - 00:05:35] I like when we get that in game of thrones house the dragon world
[00:05:37 - 00:05:40] I think that the show is just like yeah, like when we get to episode four
[00:05:40 - 00:05:43] It's a little bit of just people talking in dark rooms. It's true
[00:05:43 - 00:05:46] Which is great. Like I'm down for that
[00:05:46 - 00:05:50] But like give me a little something the episode five gave us a little something. Yeah
[00:05:51 - 00:05:53] Kristen Cole's finally in the show and I know
[00:05:53 - 00:05:55] We'll get to that but for episode three
[00:05:56 - 00:05:58] I thought that really seeing Raniera
[00:05:59 - 00:06:02] Kind of feel the weight of the crown and also being queen
[00:06:02 - 00:06:03] I mean
[00:06:03 - 00:06:07] There's stuff that she deals with as a woman that yes men don't have to deal with like that's true
[00:06:08 - 00:06:11] This episode kind of dies into all that and it's interesting like I like that
[00:06:11 - 00:06:15] So any other thoughts on episode three? I mean, there's not like a
[00:06:16 - 00:06:20] I mean we're a few weeks removed anyway, so we don't need to harp on it too. I mean, I thought the
[00:06:20 - 00:06:25] The tension with coral looks cool, too, but yes, I would agree. Yeah, I would agree. Um episode four
[00:06:25 - 00:06:29] Uh, we kind of have a little bit more focus on the greens in this episode
[00:06:30 - 00:06:34] Um, I'll give our my brief description that I wrote down. We have agon's journey
[00:06:35 - 00:06:40] Continues. Yep. Raniera's actions are felt by the greens. Um, just like stuff that she's been doing
[00:06:40 - 00:06:42] Fully introduced to Darren
[00:06:42 - 00:06:44] Um, Orman tightens his grip on the common folk of tummelton
[00:06:45 - 00:06:52] Damon lies to Raniera to protect rena. True. Um, that seemed was really good by the way. Yes. That was Helena is pregnant
[00:06:52 - 00:06:54] Yeah, um Orman pushes
[00:06:54 - 00:07:00] Sorry, Darren to claim the throne and like why pushes means like he is declaring Darren his king. Yep
[00:07:00 - 00:07:01] So
[00:07:01 - 00:07:04] That's kind of episode four in its entirety
[00:07:04 - 00:07:07] How do you feel about that episode? I thought it was good. I thought
[00:07:08 - 00:07:11] Again, the pace of the show is just
[00:07:11 - 00:07:14] It's not even weird. It's just kind of how it is. It's like
[00:07:15 - 00:07:18] We're going really fast and then we're going really slow. It's a little bit like a roller coaster like
[00:07:20 - 00:07:22] And I like three
[00:07:22 - 00:07:25] That was a little slower, but now when I got to four, I was like
[00:07:26 - 00:07:31] And we we have more slow. Yes character moments. Yes. Um, I thought the character moments were fine
[00:07:32 - 00:07:34] And here's something I've noticed about the show. Okay
[00:07:34 - 00:07:37] It's at the highs are so high. Yep
[00:07:37 - 00:07:41] Like the the this show makes a great edit on instagram
[00:07:41 - 00:07:46] It does it does all the Damon edits are awesome. Now granted
[00:07:46 - 00:07:49] Each season is eight to ten hours long
[00:07:50 - 00:07:54] That is not a little more yet. That is not the length of an edit. Yes. That's a little more than an edit
[00:07:55 - 00:08:00] So that's just kind of where I'm at with this show, but I have liked all the character moments. I liked for
[00:08:01 - 00:08:07] I thought Ormond super interesting. I love the scene with Damon and his daughter whose name is
[00:08:07 - 00:08:09] Raina Raina thought it was great
[00:08:10 - 00:08:12] I like that Damon
[00:08:12 - 00:08:20] Is still damoning. Yes, 100 like I I like this. Yeah, he's having the most fun on the show kind of I like that. He's not
[00:08:21 - 00:08:23] Strike, I think he is loyal to Raniera
[00:08:23 - 00:08:28] But it's not like a hundred percent. Oh, yeah, he's still I would say he's still loyal to himself above Raniera
[00:08:29 - 00:08:31] Which is an interesting dynamic to watch. It's weird. Yeah, it's like
[00:08:32 - 00:08:36] I say he's a lot more loyal to Raniera than he was in season two because he had his whole progression
[00:08:36 - 00:08:42] Right and you see it a lot in episode five when his Kingsguard spoiler. I guess if you do anyway
[00:08:42 - 00:08:47] It when his Kingsguard start getting slaughtered. He's like no, I'm not gonna leave
[00:08:47 - 00:08:51] I'm gonna go figure what the frick is going on right out like I'm gonna go do this
[00:08:51 - 00:08:56] So like he's still super brazen and arrogant at times
[00:08:57 - 00:09:03] But it's like so it's just so fun to watch like it's awesome. Matt Smith is so good. So good phenomenal
[00:09:04 - 00:09:07] Can't be beat. Uh, what else happened? I mean
[00:09:07 - 00:09:10] That's kind of it. Yeah, I mean, there's a scene. I think it's a four
[00:09:12 - 00:09:17] Is it in four where Darren kills that guy? Yes, I think it is. I'm pretty sure that's a four
[00:09:17 - 00:09:19] I did watch four and five backs back. Um
[00:09:19 - 00:09:23] Which was a a good moment in terms of like character. Yes, obviously
[00:09:23 - 00:09:26] That was a four. Yeah, um, I think
[00:09:27 - 00:09:32] It's kind of just goes to show all these characters usually start out like pretty good people pretty good people
[00:09:32 - 00:09:34] Not all of them, but like a lot of them
[00:09:34 - 00:09:40] Then they kind of the ball get corrupted and you watch Darren killed this guy who he says to Ormond
[00:09:40 - 00:09:42] This guy's not a bad dude. Like we literally
[00:09:43 - 00:09:47] We know what happened. Like we know what happened. We know that he was just defending his sister
[00:09:48 - 00:09:50] and Orman's like, well
[00:09:50 - 00:09:52] You got to kill him
[00:09:52 - 00:09:55] And Darren's like, all right, he kills him. He's like, I don't really want to but okay
[00:09:56 - 00:09:59] Um, but this episode feels very set upy, which is okay
[00:10:00 - 00:10:02] But like I think it introduces players that are important
[00:10:02 - 00:10:06] It just takes a lot of time to do what feels like very little
[00:10:07 - 00:10:11] Also, we have again the names kill me. Is it agon?
[00:10:11 - 00:10:15] Agon is the burnt guy toasty, man toast man. Okay his
[00:10:16 - 00:10:21] Character is interesting to watch. Yes, and it continues to get more interesting in the next episode. Yeah, it's true
[00:10:21 - 00:10:22] Um
[00:10:22 - 00:10:24] Who's his who's the other guy?
[00:10:25 - 00:10:28] What's his name? No, no, no, no the guy who's with agon
[00:10:29 - 00:10:30] Oh, uh
[00:10:30 - 00:10:32] Laris Laris sure. Yeah
[00:10:33 - 00:10:37] He was I get mixed up with Varys who's in game with her own. But anyway, these names are
[00:10:38 - 00:10:43] Yes, but the names are they're tough. I'm not gonna lie. Um, all right. Should we get into five?
[00:10:43 - 00:10:47] Yeah, let's get into five. This is the episode that we're really wanting to talk about
[00:10:47 - 00:10:49] um
[00:10:49 - 00:10:50] This I I think
[00:10:50 - 00:10:54] Those things happen at the end of this episode that really made it for me. Okay, so
[00:10:55 - 00:10:58] We kind of get I'll I'll give my synopsis. This is going to take a quick second
[00:10:59 - 00:11:03] Raniro continues to struggle with the weight of the crown and whispers of her illegitimate children
[00:11:04 - 00:11:07] Austin tries to get Helen. Oh, we didn't really talk about Helena's pregnant
[00:11:07 - 00:11:14] We didn't really get into that. That's like who was she married to I think of the books. This is agon's child
[00:11:14 - 00:11:17] Aegon who's toasty man. Yes. Okay, because she's married to agon
[00:11:18 - 00:11:19] I don't
[00:11:19 - 00:11:22] I don't know if it's confirmed in the show that that's what they're doing
[00:11:22 - 00:11:26] This might be a plot diversion from the book. Okay, which the book is also like
[00:11:27 - 00:11:30] Written as a a historian's best guess of what happened anyway
[00:11:31 - 00:11:36] So I guess you can take some creative liberty this creative liberty in the fictional universe. Yes, it's wild. Um, but okay
[00:11:37 - 00:11:40] Uh, I don't think tries to get Helena to abort her baby, right?
[00:11:40 - 00:11:45] Crystal Cole I wrote down. Crystal Cole actually does something. He does. He has not done anything for like five episodes
[00:11:45 - 00:11:47] Um, he begins attacking the rivermen
[00:11:48 - 00:11:55] Amen is a heron hall Damon spars with Raniro over the gold cloaks like verbally who are being murdered in the streets
[00:11:55 - 00:12:01] Amen kills a bunch of people who are trying to find them. Um, Helena and Allison are caught by Missaria when they're trying to escape
[00:12:02 - 00:12:06] I hate Missaria. By the way, I could go in a whole rant about her. I just don't like her character at all
[00:12:07 - 00:12:11] Uh, Damon rouses his gold cloaks in like a hey, we're gonna pay you more money
[00:12:11 - 00:12:15] Um, agon shows some life and it's reunited with the lannisters
[00:12:16 - 00:12:17] True
[00:12:17 - 00:12:21] Damon discovers it's Ormond Daren combination behind his soldiers deaths
[00:12:22 - 00:12:25] Um, Helena and Allison find a secret door, but then get shut inside
[00:12:26 - 00:12:27] Trapped in darkness
[00:12:27 - 00:12:35] Sir Kristen Cole and Gwayne debate their purpose Kristen rouses his soldiers leading them to what Kristen says is their death
[00:12:36 - 00:12:39] Um, Damon finds all his gold cloaks slaughtered by Ormond and Daren
[00:12:40 - 00:12:42] eliminating the city watch
[00:12:42 - 00:12:43] from the game
[00:12:43 - 00:12:45] at least for right now
[00:12:45 - 00:12:47] That's the episode summary true
[00:12:48 - 00:12:53] If you needed that after watching the episode, which you probably watched either last night or today
[00:12:54 - 00:12:57] I thought I'm not gonna go in any particular order
[00:12:58 - 00:13:01] Kristen Cole. Yeah, let's start with him. He is finally doing things
[00:13:02 - 00:13:04] I think he's making a super selfish decision
[00:13:05 - 00:13:10] That checks out. He's basically he's been pretty selfish this whole I mean that is true, but like
[00:13:11 - 00:13:14] I think he's kind of been more selfish to the nobles
[00:13:15 - 00:13:16] and
[00:13:16 - 00:13:19] To the people above him and now he's basically saying
[00:13:19 - 00:13:24] I don't care about anything and I want to go die and you're gonna come with me. Yeah, I like that
[00:13:25 - 00:13:28] That's a new level of selfishness that I don't think we've seen in him
[00:13:28 - 00:13:31] Which I want to talk a little bit about this actually
[00:13:31 - 00:13:35] I forget the actor's name, but he apparently said one time like
[00:13:35 - 00:13:38] I tried to get the writers to show more Kristen Cole's humanity
[00:13:39 - 00:13:41] And uh, the show is what it is
[00:13:42 - 00:13:44] How do you feel about
[00:13:44 - 00:13:47] Sir Kristen Cole is kind of inhumane this I think he's interesting this episode
[00:13:48 - 00:13:50] He hasn't been interesting in like a full season true
[00:13:50 - 00:13:52] How do you feel about Kristen Cole as a character right now?
[00:13:52 - 00:13:56] I mean, I do think it makes sense from his character. I think what he said in this episode is true
[00:13:56 - 00:13:59] He's basically there are the mosquitoes everywhere. Yeah, they're bad. Um
[00:14:01 - 00:14:03] He's basically saying like
[00:14:04 - 00:14:07] I've served my entire life. I don't want to serve anymore. Yeah
[00:14:08 - 00:14:10] He's like I've served black. I've served green
[00:14:11 - 00:14:12] And he like he
[00:14:12 - 00:14:17] Which while he's like climbed with the ranks, he's not ever really been his own master. True. Yeah
[00:14:18 - 00:14:20] um
[00:14:20 - 00:14:22] So I think it makes sense from that perspective
[00:14:22 - 00:14:24] I honestly don't think it makes sense because I do think he cares about his men
[00:14:25 - 00:14:27] That he's just willing to send everyone to die
[00:14:28 - 00:14:31] Like I think that's kind of a crazy leap. He's just like becomes super super nihilistic. Yeah
[00:14:32 - 00:14:34] Not that he wasn't before but like
[00:14:35 - 00:14:38] I don't know. It's just such a gear shift, which I know there's progression
[00:14:38 - 00:14:42] But it's it feels like kind of a gear shift. I kind of agree from the earlier seasons
[00:14:43 - 00:14:46] Like I just don't know where we're going with him right now, which I haven't read the book
[00:14:46 - 00:14:52] Like we've said on this podcast. So maybe we're going somewhere, but it just kind of feels like his character's sitting around
[00:14:53 - 00:14:56] Doing stuff. Yeah, and they're trying to give him something to do a little bit
[00:14:56 - 00:15:00] He feels this whole plot line feels very pointless, but I'm glad that he's doing something
[00:15:01 - 00:15:03] I agree. Um
[00:15:04 - 00:15:06] I feel like also alice in hawaii now
[00:15:07 - 00:15:09] Aren't really doing a thing either
[00:15:09 - 00:15:14] It's sad because like alice is supposed to be the other and or not antagonist. Sorry
[00:15:14 - 00:15:18] Protagonists of this show right like if you look at a poster of house of the dragon
[00:15:18 - 00:15:20] You know who's on the front of it
[00:15:20 - 00:15:24] We're nera and allison. Yep. She's the other lead and I love olivia coach. I think she's great
[00:15:25 - 00:15:30] She's been trapped in king's landing for a long time. She's been locked in her room for three episodes. Yes, and like
[00:15:31 - 00:15:33] That sucks for her
[00:15:33 - 00:15:37] Yes, and I like that she does try to escape with helena and then she like continues to fail
[00:15:37 - 00:15:43] Like she cannot get out of this castle at all. Um, but it just feels like she's kind of sidelined a little bit
[00:15:43 - 00:15:45] Now she's trapped in a hallway also like
[00:15:46 - 00:15:49] She wasn't that upset about her dad's death. Like she was upset. I know
[00:15:50 - 00:15:52] She was like that really sucks
[00:15:52 - 00:15:55] I mean great that her dad had been in prison forever or so like
[00:15:56 - 00:15:57] But still that's like your dad
[00:15:57 - 00:16:01] But like yeah at the end of episode three is this moment where allison is looking at raniera
[00:16:02 - 00:16:04] I like or sorry at the end of episode two
[00:16:05 - 00:16:10] Uh allison's looking at raniera her dad's head is on the ground. True. She sees her dad is dead
[00:16:11 - 00:16:14] She sees that raniera did it and the next episode raniera's like i'm sorry
[00:16:14 - 00:16:20] She's like all right. It's okay, and then she's like i'm locking you in the room and olivia's like, yeah, that's fine
[00:16:20 - 00:16:22] Yeah, it's just like
[00:16:22 - 00:16:26] Yeah, it's not bad writing. I would say like the show is so really well written but
[00:16:27 - 00:16:30] I I feel like I would be more upset if I were in her shoes
[00:16:31 - 00:16:35] I don't know about other people but I think I would too. I saw my beheaded parents
[00:16:36 - 00:16:41] If my past best friend had usurped my throne and killed my dad and locked me in a room
[00:16:42 - 00:16:44] I would be a little angry. Yep
[00:16:44 - 00:16:46] And she's she's nonchalant about it
[00:16:46 - 00:16:50] Which maybe it just gives her the resolve like we gotta get out of here at all costs
[00:16:50 - 00:16:55] Kind of what she's trying to do. I guess it's true, but then she didn't really try to escape and so she found out that helena was pregnant
[00:16:55 - 00:16:57] that's true, so
[00:16:57 - 00:17:01] And helena I think is actually like becoming a little bit more of a character, which I appreciate. I agree
[00:17:02 - 00:17:04] But this is something I think what i'm trying to get at
[00:17:05 - 00:17:07] raniera and allison's
[00:17:07 - 00:17:10] Are well written women true in this show. Yep
[00:17:10 - 00:17:12] I don't think any of the other women are that compelling
[00:17:13 - 00:17:18] Like yep, I don't like mesaria at all. She's kind of annoying. She's pretty annoying
[00:17:18 - 00:17:23] Whatever like I I like the witch lady
[00:17:24 - 00:17:27] Yes, but like she's not good. She doesn't really do anything. Yeah, like I
[00:17:27 - 00:17:30] I don't know. I like I want a little bit more
[00:17:31 - 00:17:33] I think we're starting to get it with helena
[00:17:33 - 00:17:37] We kind of haven't gotten it from allison this season. I just want a little bit more
[00:17:37 - 00:17:37] I agree
[00:17:37 - 00:17:39] Especially when allison is supposed to be a main character
[00:17:40 - 00:17:42] Let me know if you agree with that in the comment section
[00:17:43 - 00:17:44] but
[00:17:44 - 00:17:45] The like
[00:17:45 - 00:17:48] Allison and helena have been just wandering around the cast
[00:17:49 - 00:17:49] Trying to leave
[00:17:49 - 00:17:51] It's true
[00:17:51 - 00:17:58] What else still got to you about this episode a day man's man getting marked. Yes. That was interesting. Yeah, I think the conclusion here
[00:17:59 - 00:18:03] Is really interesting. Yep, completely agree a lot of setup a lot of setup and then again
[00:18:03 - 00:18:06] That's kind of these whole three episodes are like wow
[00:18:07 - 00:18:09] This could go somewhere interesting
[00:18:09 - 00:18:13] Yes, and here we are three hours later and like I am okay with the show taking its time
[00:18:13 - 00:18:14] I am too
[00:18:14 - 00:18:20] But like when we had to talk about the show week in week out, we're like, well, yeah this week they kind of just talked more in rooms
[00:18:22 - 00:18:25] We just kind of see everything like I wonder where it's all gonna go. Listen. I promise. I love this show
[00:18:26 - 00:18:28] Here's something. I think that's impacting me right now. Okay
[00:18:28 - 00:18:33] I like in the span of when I left for my honeymoon and we had this two week break from house the dragon
[00:18:34 - 00:18:38] I rewatched nine of the seven kingdoms with my wife. Okay. She loved it by the way
[00:18:39 - 00:18:41] It is just kind of night and day
[00:18:41 - 00:18:45] Different those two shows and that's okay. Like they're supposed to be different things
[00:18:45 - 00:18:47] But I kind of think the world of westeros
[00:18:49 - 00:18:52] Is a little bit more consistent when it's a smaller focus
[00:18:53 - 00:18:55] And
[00:18:55 - 00:18:58] So game of thrones the highs are really high house dragon the highs are really high
[00:18:59 - 00:19:02] The lows of those shows are also kind of lower. So
[00:19:02 - 00:19:04] Pick your poison
[00:19:04 - 00:19:06] Yeah, I would argue the lows of
[00:19:06 - 00:19:09] 97 kingdoms is higher than the lows of
[00:19:09 - 00:19:12] House the dragon. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I mean
[00:19:12 - 00:19:15] Also, I think that show because there's only six episodes is a little more
[00:19:16 - 00:19:22] Concise and 30 minutes. It's also pretty faithful. I just read the book early satin novella. So it's pretty faithful
[00:19:22 - 00:19:25] Um, but yeah, I mean, I don't have anything else to talk about with this episode
[00:19:25 - 00:19:28] A lot of stuff happens. I like darin. I like ormond
[00:19:29 - 00:19:31] I'm excited to see where the show is going
[00:19:32 - 00:19:37] There's a lot of setup for like three episodes. Yep. So let's know what you think of house the dragon
[00:19:37 - 00:19:39] Where's it going? Don't spoil if you've read the book
[00:19:40 - 00:19:42] Anything else you want to add?
[00:19:43 - 00:19:44] We have three episodes left
[00:19:44 - 00:19:50] I think so. Yeah, okay. They run through eight episodes. Yep. So we're gonna keep doing this weekend week out. Yep. We have
[00:19:51 - 00:19:56] Gear shift spider-man marathon. Yep around the corner talking about every live action spider-man movie
[00:19:56 - 00:20:00] Yes in preparation for brand new day. Mm-hmm gonna be lit. Yep
[00:20:00 - 00:20:05] A little bit more to talk about there. Maybe grand birthday episode is dropping is coming out soon
[00:20:05 - 00:20:09] So stay tuned for that. Yep. Um, and also we just watched the odyssey
[00:20:09 - 00:20:14] We did curious what our thoughts are on the odyssey. You can go watch or watch it on the odyssey
